.
In 2013, Canadian Pneumologist Dr. Jules Arthur Peter Paré passed away.1 He was the trainer of several generations of experts in the respiratory system at an international level, he had the vision to articulate physiology, radiology and anatomopathology in the study of the lung (Figure 1). His book was a work of reference for several years; in addition, he was known for being a great clinician and his famous visit passes. His teachings were shared by his two sons: one a pathologist and the other a pulmonologist.
He was the first scientist in the world to propose the use of corticosteroids in the treatment of bronchial asthma. He was a model teacher, gentle, with good humor and a decisive personality, characteristics that we are looking for in these times.
