ABSTRACT
Determining the optimal relationship between public health and individual health is a major ethical challenge for health system and providers. In theory there should be no conflict between the two. Several of the issues raised by externally sponsored research, such as the standard of care provided to research participants, are not confined to developing countries. Is necessary a promotion of the principles of the Helsinki Declaration.
