ABSTRACT
Introduction: Massive hemoptysis is a serious complication of several pathologies. We present a case of a pregnant woman with this complication. Case report: A 26 year-old female with 26 weeks pregnant, presents massive hemoptysis. The patient was surgically treated with upper left lobectomy. Her postoperative evolution was adequate and at 36 weeks, the pregnancy was resolved. The product of pregnancy was a female alive, clinically without any pathology. At one-year follow-up the patient and her daughter are with good evolution. Conclusion: It was concluded that massive hemoptysis must be treated when diagnosed, even in pregnant woman.
