Procedure for complaints and/or appeals

This procedure is related to complaints about policy, procedure or actions from the editorial staff of the journal.  The journal’s editorial staff is open to comments and complaints that contribute to the improvement of our processes. We are committed to answer such complaints in an expedite and constructive manner. The procedure to file a complaint is as follows:

  •
    • Complaints and/or appeals must relate to an error in the editorial process, such as an excessive delay, an inappropriate or discourteous response, or a serious error of judgment.
  •
    • The complaint and/or appeal must concern a matter that falls within the responsibility of the editorial department.
  •
    • Whenever possible, complaints and/or appeals will be handled by the appropriate editorial staff, including the Editor-in-Chief when necessary.
  •
    • If the initial response is deemed insufficient, the complainant may request that the complaint and/or appeal be escalated to the Editor-in-Chief, whose decision shall be final.
  •
    • If the complainant remains dissatisfied with the final decision of the Editor-in-Chief, they may submit a complaint or appeal to an external body, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
